He built a box, and she painted our last initial and their wedding date on it. They put in two unread love letters to each other about why they fell in love, a nice bottle of wine from the year they started dating, and nailed the lid on the box. They promised that if things ever get too hard and their love starts to fade, they will open the box, drink the wine, and read the letters they wrote to each other, reminding them of how much their love means and to never give up.

I shall do that with my future wife.

oh my fucking god.

something really aggravating about people finding someone musically talented on Facebook and then claiming they’re better than “all the shit out there”. No, you’re just being ignorant and lazy and only bothering to listen to the shit, whilst currently mainstream music isn’t so great there are so many great artists. Get off your ass instead of preaching about someone who landed on your lap just because you were scrolling endlessly down Facebook. Go find some music instead.

Anonymous said: Hey girl! how did you get started with music journalism? I've been thinking about getting into this career. What sort of major would you need in school for this? thanks!

Hey at the moment I’ve just started studying a music journalism degree at university! But honestly you can go down the route of just journalism and try and focus on music but obviously a music journalism degree will make it a bit easier and plus you have more fun with it! Email your work absolutely everywhere and to everyone, try to start writing for small websites, email anyone and everyone big or small asking for press to gigs and review these, even post them on your own music blog if they have nowhere else to go! You really just have to completely put yourself out there and nag people and eventually you’ll get somewhere :) Hope this helps! xx

unfortunately, if you ever read this blog the well had started to dry up. This is due to the fact that jadeslifeinmusic has now been replaced with this. I”ll be keeping up to date with all kinds of new music and new music news here, this is also part of my uni work so it would be great if I could get a decent following or readership and some support!

Thanks guys,

Jade x

babel sounds really similar to the first album to me, but I still LOVE it, it’s just so beautiful even if it is similar. It’s just so raw and emotional and beautiful. Always have a soft spot for Mumford & Sons. The kind of songs that really cut to the bone. It’s so wrong to love an album that’s so repetitive but I really can’t help it.

lost my way and my faith in music a little bit and I really doubted what I wanted, but my faith has been fully restored, silly to ever doubt it. And now I am gonna put my everything into this course and do exactly what I want in life
